Just what the doctor ordered
Basically a heart rate monitor should do just that and that s what the Omron HR 100C does. No need for other models which in some cases cost ten times what this machine costs. The only draw back Is that you have to wear the watch on your wrist and cannot rely on your treadmill to pick up the signal from the belt as it seems to be further than the recommend range.

Buy some very tiny screwdrivers if you want to change the battery
I have owned this product for a year or so. The receiver battery finally died today and I tried to change the battery. Got the back off only to find that the battery (CR2032) is also screwed down inside the unit with two of the world’s smallest screws. I have a jewelery screwdriver set but the smallest one was not small enough for the battery screws. Tossed the thing in the trash and won’t be buying another from Omron.
I use it every time I exercise
I bought this because I started doing P90x and he recommends having a heart rate monitor. I must say this was money well spent. I use it every time I exercise, and I find myself always trying to stay in my zone.
I was surprised to learn that the cardio machines in the gym pick up the heart rate as well, so I don’t have to hold the handles anymore to get a heart rate reading. It’s also good because I like to see how the rate on the machine compares to the one on my wrist.
I also use the stop watch feature when I’m walking outdoors so I can time how long it takes me to walk the neighborhood.
Definitely a good buy.
