The clock is well and everything works fine until you started to go. I managed to replace the battery in the clock to be patient and a small screwdriver. but the battery is sealed harness. Saying that is waterproof, but can not be used for bathing. I say simply crazy to buy suspenders $[...] every two years. spend a little ‘more advance planning and forget the projection of braces.

Quite pleased
I’m very pleased with this watch, especially for the price. It works well, is easy to set up and to use. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the sensor was picked up by the cardio machines at the gym, so my HR would appear on the LCD screen. When I read the reviews before purchasing the watch someone mentioned that it beeps too loud. I can’t say I agree. I’m not sure what too loud is. It’s enough for me to notice but I’ve never seen anyone react to the beeping when I’m at the gym. I’m sure there’s much fancier more expensive watches out there but for the price it does what it should.
chest strap battery not user replaceable
watch is fine and everything works good till the batteries start to go. i was able to replace the battery in the watch myself with patience and tiny screwdrivers. but the chest strap battery is sealed. they say it is waterproof, but not to be used for swimming. i say its just a scam to make you buy a $[...] chest strap every 2 years. spend a little more up front and forget about their planned throw away chest strap.
POLAR FS1 HEART RATE MONITOR
I am happy wit the monitor. It is easy to program, and it works well with the monitors that are installed on the treadmills where I exercise. It is easy to read my heart rate and know when I reached the high side and continue for the time I’ve alloted. I am over 60 years old and I was interested in increasing my aerobic heart rate (and not kill myself trying!).
Excellent value heart rate monitor
Very reasonably priced for a chest strap + basic HRM watch.
Pros:
1. Very good price for a chest strap + watch combination
2. Chest strap is compatible with the treadmills at my apartment gym (Life Fitness) – don’t need to wear the watch when I’m on the treadmill
3. I sweat profusely, and that’s an understatement. Yet both the strap and watch have survived over a year now.
4. Watch has lower and upper limits that can be set, and beeps when you’re outside this range. Quick and simple for zone training.
5. Watch has big easy-to-read digits and reasonably intuitive menu system, controlled entirely by a single button
Cons:
1. Strap needs a little moisture at the contact points, so on occasion when the air conditioning is up and I’m very dry (rare), the monitor takes a while to give a reading
2. Watch has sculpted curves and other physical design cues, but the overall appearance is rather unfavorable. It might have looked much better with a simpler design. In its current form, I only use it to train and never otherwise.
3. Simple functionality; shows time, heart rate and beeps when out of custom zone, but does little else (such as calorie counting, etc.). This is appropriate for the price point though.
4. Roughly once every 2 or 3 workouts, the strap stops sending heart rate though I’d be sweating profusely – not sure why. Removing the strap, wiping it against my shirt and wearing it again would cause it to resume functioning.
5. I am of medium-large build and I’ve had to tighten the strap thrice in the last one year due to loosening of the elastic. Note that this is over the course of 14 months and I believe the elastic strap can be bought separately.
6. Elastic strap tends to absorb sweat.
Overall: Worth it!
