I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for an easy to use basic HRM.

iHaveParrrots May 2, 2010 at 3:41 am: I used this HRM successfully for 3 months til I cleaned it under running water in the sink. The HRM apparently shorted out.

This HRM is advertised as water resistant to 50 meters, but if you read the fine print in the back of the booklet, it will say do not use any buttons underwater or water can leak into the HRM and short it out.

I do not reccommend this HRM for purchase. Sweat, rain, or a brisk cleaning can short it out, if the buttons are pushed. I consider this to be false advertising. This item should be withdrawn from sale as defective.

M. Sano May 2, 2010 at 5:33 am: I used my monitor to run for about three months and it served its purpose. However, the first time I got in the pool to start training the water flooded the watch and ruined it. Trying to get it fixed has been a pain and it seems like I’m going to have to buy an entirely new monitor…what a waste.

However I wish it had some features that you may take for granted when it says “Is also a watch.” It does not have a second hand, date, or a light. It’s affordable and works well but read what your buying. Take Care.
