Fitness accessories are all those extra devices, which are added to the fitness equipment in order to make the training more comfortable and diverse. They also provide a greater load.
Fitness accessories may be part of the fitness equipment, they can serve as aids or to facilitate training. Accessories that are part of fitness equipment are: bands, elbow, knee, training gloves, etc. They are used to prevent injuries, to improve the endurance and to strengthen different body parts for greater security.
Aids are not directly related to training, but they affect the overall fitness regime. They include mostly measuring devices (meter, scales, heart rate monitor, calipers, etc.).
Fitness accessories that are not part of the equipment, but facilitate the training are: skipping rope, shaker, sport bottle for liquids, belt for training, exercise mat and others. They make the training more enjoyable and diverse. The basic rule in choosing a fitness accessory is to facilitate training, to be convenient and to be used properly. The uncomfortable, improperly used accessories can reduce the effect of the exercise and even lead to injury.
Which are the most commonly used fitness accessories and what they are used for?
-Bands, elbow, knee – they are put on the wrists, elbows, knees and ankles for snug fit to the body for greater comfort and to avoid potential shocks. Note that these fitness accessories are suitable mainly for people who have weak wrists, elbows, knees and ankles or bruises in these locations. You should wear them only when it is necessary; otherwise, they hinder the development of the joints. –Training gloves – they absorb the sweat and protect the hand skin from thickening and ulceration. Gloves with fingers provide maximum protection.
-Calipers – devices for measuring body fat. It is one of the most accurate methods, but should be done by a specialist.
-Heart rate monitor – a tool used for monitoring the pulse during cardio exercises. Some models have a function to show a signal when the pulse reaches a certain value. Often, the display is built into the very cardio device.
-Training belt-it serves for stabilizing the spine and waist when there is heavy physical activity to reduce the risk of injury. It is recommended to be used only when needed-if there are back pains or lifting heavy weights. Belts can be of different widths and textures.
-Training mat-it is comfortable and practical for exercises on the ground.
-Rope for jumping-jumping rope is a very effective cardio activity. The ropes are of soft or hard, metal, wood or plastic handles.
-Shaker-it is a device for crushing and mixing protein drinks and other beverages.
-Sport bottle for liquids-it is perfect for sport and fitness, with the possibility of dosing.
There are many other types of fitness accessories and constantly appear new, but these are the most commonly used and they are suitable for women.
