well, I have purchased items on ebay before and other online stores, and have had a less than desirable experience. since the official polar site is very expensive, can anyone recommend a fairly decent priced but more than anything trust site that sells polar heart rate monitors? thanks

ohh I know what you mean. ebay is good sometimes but you want to make sure you get a manufacturers warranty (i prefer to anyways), and these are usually from authorized sellers. anyways I purchased 2 polar heart rate monitors from the and once from heartratemonitorusa either way those 2 are good. I prefer HeartRateMonitorShop

I do a lot of shopping at Amazon and I purchased the Omron for $33 and it works great. It will work with exercise equipment that uses wireless technology and you can replace the battery in the chest strap. Polar requires you to buy a new strap when the battery dies.

Spinning.com.
But shop around for the features that you want and need. Amazon.com would be another site to check.

Well depending on which polar heart rate monitor you want depends on the price.
The main thing I will stress about getting any fitness watch is to match it to the kind of workout you are looking for. No sense going crazy and getting one of the GPS versions if you are never going to use it.
Same is true if you want more then just a decent watch that can take an accurate heart rate count..then you’d be left wanting more. best thing is to figure out what kind of workout you want it for and match the watch to the workout.
This site reviews polar heart rate monitors from the perspective and also reviews some of the less expensive models.
