The Polar Heart Monitor arrived fairly quickly and was in good shape.

It is difficult to get this thing to “report” reliably. The rigid, flat/stiff “reading plane” on the back of the chest strap is four inches across, whereas most people have chests that curve. The result is that there is a gap between the four inch plane that the “chest belt” requires, and this results in poor reading – it keeps changing. (If I move it lower onto the top of my diaphragm area, it either doesn’t read correctly, or it doesn’t read at all.

The Polar T31 is well designed, easy to put on and functions as advertised. However it appears that it only lasts as long as it’s battery. I can find no way to replace or recharge the battery that’s installed. It appears to be built in. I cannot find a “help line” to research the problem. If there is no way to replace or recharge it, it’s a very expensive tool. I purchased this through Amazon.com

I have had two of these, and they have lasted years with moderate use. I am just now replacing my first one that is probably five years old. I love that these work with precor and other brands of exercise equipment. Also, these coupled with a polar hrm watch give a very accurate count on how many calories you’ve burned during a workout.

One of the best products I’ve purchased.

Belt arrived quickly in perfect condition and has been functioning well since. Using it with a Trimline treadmill replacing the Polar belt that came with it 7 years ago.
