Larry Jordan April 13, 2010 at 4:13 am: I bought the Suunto T1c HRM watch for my wife for Christmas. She is a fitness instructor and I wanted to get a watch that would be up to the challenge of everyday use. From all reviews I read, this seemed to be that watch. Most of the reviews I read cautioned readers about the difficult setup procedure. I thought since I am a techie that it wouldn’t be a problem to setup a watch. I was wrong! The watch itself isn’t much different to setup than many other $100-plus HRM watches, but if you need to reference the included manual, good luck. The manual is poorly written and that in itself make setting up the watch more difficult than it really is. After almost two weeks of trying to get it right and teach my wife how to access the data she was wanting, we decided to take it back and exchange for a Polar F7. The salesman at the store even had a hard time trying to show us anything about the watch. I really hated stepping down to a Polar, but what good is quality if you can’t get it to do what you want. After only 30 minutes, the Polar was setup and ready for action.
